People need people. Whether one is an extreme extravert or an extreme introvert, one needs some connection with others, and without this, our mental health and wellbeing will suffer. Not only that, but we will experience loneliness. Loneliness is not just about social interaction – it’s about personal connection. It’s possible to be with a group of people and yet feel alone. Think of a crowded city centre. There are lots of people, but we will still feel lonely if we’re not engaged with them in some meaningful way. Our senses are vital to that connection. For example, a new study reported in NeuroscienceNews, demonstrates that hearing aids can ease loneliness for those withhearing impairment. Why? Because the aids are a way of helping them connect with others. God knows that we need a connection, and His Spirit works in our
lives to put us in groups where we can feel loved and accepted. Trust Him to do this, and follow His guidance, daily walking and talking with Jesus. Not only will He build your friendships, but He Himself will be your greatest friend forever. Be grateful for every channel of love that flows your way, but above all, go to the Source of Love!
